Friendly service and wonderful tastings offered throughout the store. Many of their offerings are created under noteworthy chef supervision. My favorite recent selection was the cherry infused balsamic vinegar. Yum!

Chipotle

by · Comments (0)

All I can say is I wish I bought stock, I wish I bought stock, I wish…

I always enjoy my meals here. The burritos, tacos and bowls are freshly made from your selections. Three things that’s it, made your way. Large portions suitable to share or to plan ahead for leftovers.

They have a very cool and entertaining website.

BTW: Stock symbol is CMG

Wasa Sushi

by · Comments (0)

A very popular Sushi bar and Japanese restaurant. Start you meal with some well executed appetizers such as the Negimayaki – grilled asparagus and green onions encased in grilled rib eye or the pretty good soft shell crab. The chef offers many daily specials and the dressy preparations common in most sushi bars today – dynamite rolls, crunchy roll, rainbow roll – all executed well.
What To Order: Ninja roll, rainnbow roll, seared toro with ponzu sauce, albacore tataki

Mr. Stox

by · Comments (0)

One of the better restaurants in Anaheim. Mr. Stox has a great chef and a historical legacy that few other restaurant in Orange County can match. Here, attention to detail extends to things like growing and harvesting their own herbs, and making their own bread. Mr. Stox also hosts special dinners designed with the gourmand and the wine aficionado in mind. One of my favorite of these was a Frogs Leap Winery dinner, hosted by the winery’s founder, John Williams (not to be confused with the composer). Special events range from $ 50 to $ 85 per person (OK, the Opus One winemakers dinner was $ 150). Regular menu is ranges from $ 17 to $ 30 per entree.

Mr. Stox is more suited to the business lunch and client dinner then a romantic one. Check out their extensive wine list.

Ma La

by · Comments (0)

When eating in Maui who wants to waste anytime in the interior of a restaurant? Not me. Ma La is in a unique location overlooking the Pacific Ocean, in fact the patio deck is over the water. We dined in the main dining room enjoying the picture window at sunset.

The menu is loaded with creative and tasty dishes served in a tapas styles. The chef not only features Spanish and Mediterranean tastes, but also Hawaiian and Japanese. The varied menu offers something for everyone including those from the meat and potato crowd.

The standouts of our evening included sugar snap peas with chili, oyster shooter with wasabi and soy, garlic and cheese lavish, shrimp and lettuce lavish, and the Kobe cheeseburger.

Other dishes we enjoyed where the beet and goat cheese salad, and chocolate soufflé. Oh, and the fires taste mighty good when dipped in the aoli!

Zov’s Bistro & Bakery

by · Comments (0)

Zov’s is two places – a fine restaurant and a casual bistro and bakery. I find myself preferring the bistro for lunch and breakfast. If you go for lunch, try the grilled lamb sandwich with green peppercorn spread on panini or any of the salads – my favorite is the seared tuna salad.

Meinhardt Fine Foods

by · Comments (0)

A gourmet grocery store with a spectacular deli and meat section! This place is like an amped up Whole Foods. Wander through and sample sweets, condiments, baked goods, etc. Specialty sodas, gourmet sandwiches, soups, green and specialty salads, and many unique items such as potato pancakes, fish cakes, grilled vegetables, and more. Friendly and speedy service.

Great place to grab a snack for the plane ride home and to make your fellow passengers salivate with jealously.

Ostioneria Bahia Mexican

by · Comments (0)

Authentic Mexican food with emphasis on seafood. Cevichi, Shrimp tacos, shrimp mojo de ajo (garlic and butter), shrimp diablo, fresh guacamole and tangy salsa and cold cerveza.

The location on Tustin avenue is vast and family friendly.

I do think the food is better at the Chapman location, but the location classifies a true hole in the wall and may not be comfortable for most diners.
