Matsuhisa

by · Comments (0)

I have had many amazing meals at this world famous Japanese restaurant. Not just great sushi. I love the soft shell crab roll – this crunchy, delectable treat is truly unique. In fact, just about everything on Master Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s 20+ page menu is unique and wonderful.

His restaurant Nobu in New York, Las Vegas and more locations annually are also consistently on many top ten restaurant lists.
Best Dish: There are so many delicacies – try anything and I am sure you will be pleased.

The Back Porch Bistro

07-10-07 Just heard that The Back Porch closed but not to fret I hear it has been replaced by a Spanish Tapas restaurant.

The comprehensive wine list alone would make this an great find in a any city. The food makes it a pleasure.

A creative menu featuring excellent pastas, fish, shell fish, and chops make for fine fare.
What To Order: Fresh fish, Bruschetta, Soups

Home to one of the best chefs in the west. Thierry Rautureau is full of surprising combinations of flavor. In a converted home, the garden-like environment is a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city.

For a really special dinner ask Terry for chef’s choice.

Wow! Stumbled across this find after a couple of beers at the Tied House around the corner ( I’ve been back and it’s just great without the beer). Not your typical Chinese restaurant, try the fresh seafood, Pineapple Fried Rice and Walnut Shrimp, and Pineapple Fried Rice.

Rodney’s Oyster House

by · Comments (1)

If I lived in Toronto this would be my hang out! Great food, a large variety of wonderful beers, friendly service, and a neighborhood atmosphere make this a true local favorite – just ask anyone for the name of the best Oyster Bar around (I did) and it will be Rodney’s. Choose from their chalkboard of fresh shellfish. With your fresh shucked feast you can also enjoy their selection of tasty condiments to enhance the natural flavors and clear out your sinus.

They claim to serve 6,000 to 10,000 oysters per month – that’s a lot of shucking.
What To Order: freshly shucked Malpeque Oysters from Prince Edward Island
